According to recent studies, approximately 25% of individuals diagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) also meet criteria for an anxiety disorder, leading to even more challenges engaging with others and managing responsibilities at home, work, and school. Anxiety disorders may impede one’s ability to focus on a task, while challenges with executive functioning may also increase levels of anxiety for individuals with comorbid diagnoses. For example, individuals who meet criteria for both diagnoses may find their negative core beliefs are exacerbated by an inability to complete their daily task demands.
