Robert Pope
Robert Pope began his animation career storyboarding for Atlanta's Cinema
Concepts, where he went on to animate and direct for three years. He later signed on
to IBM's Multimedia Publishing Studio, where he directed, among other things, CDROM
titles such as "Peter and the Wolf" featuring narration by Tony Randall. In '94
he joined Crawford Communication's DESIGNefx, where he worked alongside
Director John Ryan. In '96 Pope and Ryan migrated to the Atlanta office of Click3X
studios. . Robert has distinguished himself as a director for clients as diverse as
Cartoon Network, Culligan Water, Ford Dealers, the Atlanta Braves, Ronzoni Pasta,
Raid, Tony Chachere Spices, Valley National Bank, Brachs Candy,
HowStuffWorks.com, Gulf Power, and a host of others. Robert brings a controlled
and varied aesthetic to his work, drawing on diverse influences such as vintage
Warner Bros., Disney, UPA, '60s Marvel Comics and early Hanna‐Barbera, to name a
few. His dogged determination to accurately replicate many different styles of
animation has been of great use the animated medium, as well as print, where he
currently draws Scooby‐Doo and more for DC Comics. He is a member in good
standing of the National Cartoonist's Society.
